Our Tutors
Our Tutors
Our tutors possess extensive experience in both motorcycling and driving. They are exceptionally qualified to support your journey towards advanced riding or driving proficiency. Our team skills include
• current, and former, DVSA Approved Driving and Motorcycle Instructors, some of whom have achieved the highest A grading.
• Several tutors have successfully mentored individuals for nearly two decades, to attain advanced qualifications through RoSPA and other organisations.
Within our motorcycle group, all tutors are highly skilled riders with diverse backgrounds. Amongst them are high mileage riders with tens of thousands of miles under their belt.
Some have undertaken development training, including
• accredited off-road skills,
• commercial track day instruction
• training where the focus is on specific bike control skill.
• additional DVSA-recognised rider certifications.
• Individual tutors have also served as voluntary blood bikers.
All tutors have passed the RoSPA Advanced Test at a GOLD standard and are required to undertake a mandatory retest every three years, with annual reviews of their individual performance. This process ensures they are fully equipped to provide guidance, encouragement, and expert advice tailored to your experience, skills and goals. This enables you to achieve your objectives while increasing both your skillset and safety.
You can be confident that, regardless of where your skill level lies when you begin your advanced training, our friendly and approachable tutors are dedicated to focusing on your individual needs and committed to delivering the best possible experience. We aim to do that in a way that is fun and enjoyable.

Each associate member is supported on an individual basis. The first thing that occurs is an assessment ride or drive to establish your level of skill, experience and ability. This lets us develop an individual approach to support you. Someone returning to sit a triennial test should take less time than a relatively new rider or driver. However, we aim to have a standard associate with no previous training test ready within 10 – 12 sessions. Each session is scheduled for around 2 hours, but this can be amended if circumstances need e.g. if you or your tutor consider it better to shorten a session.
Training starts and ends at mutually agreed locations. Otherwise, on road sessions will take place at locations that are best able to support the aspect of roadcraft being looked at during that particular session. Typically sessions will be held over all road types = Motorways, A & B class roads, urban streets and minor roads,
Your most important asset is having a positive attitude and keenness to learn. Before you join you will have a conversation with the relevant training officer where they will explain to you what you need to do before training starts.
We would consider this happening as very unlikely. Other than losing your licence to drive or ride the only really identifiable reason would be if you failed to engage with your tutor and the package that had been put in place for you.
We fully understand that life gets in the way of plans and goals and that circumstances change. If this happens and training is becoming difficult to maintain please let us know as soon as possible, We would like to work with you to support you and will try to make any reasonable changes to ensure you achieve what you want to. Please let your tutor or the relevant training officer know of any change in your circumstances so we can agree the best way forward.
Yes, feedback is welcomed. Your tutor will have a debrief at the end of each session and you should receive a written report on your performance. You are encouraged to speak with them, ask questions and give your input. In reality your tutor will be asking for your opinion and feedback during each scheduled session. If you have comments on the overall experience you are invited to make contact with the relevant training officer.
